On Wednesday night the Kentucky Wildcats' opponent for the team's second round game in the NIT was determined, as Creighton nipped Bowling Green 73-71

The Kentucky Wildcats will be traveling to Omaha to take on the Creighton Blue Jays on Monday, March 23, after a 23-foot attempt for the win by Bowling Green's Darryl Clements bounced off the rim, and a tip at the buzzer by Scott Thomas for the tie missed its mark.

Kentucky has previously met Creighton on the court 11 times, and is 7-4 against the Blue Jays.

The last meeting between the Wildcats and the Creighton came on January 2,1948, a 65-23 win by the team that would go on to become Adolph Rupp's first NCAA Tournament champion.

Among the common threads linking Kentucky and Creighton is Eddie Sutton, who coached at Creighton prior to moving on to Arkansas, and then to Kentucky.
